OSHA HazCom 2026: GHS Rev. 7 Compliance Deadlines Are Here — Is Your SDS Library Ready?
OSHA’s updated Hazard Communication Standard — aligning U.S. rules with the 7th Revised Edition of the UN’s Globally Harmonized System (GHS Rev. 7) — took effect July 19, 2024. But the compliance deadlines are landing right now. Chemical manufacturers, importers, and distributors had until May 19, 2026 to update SDSs and labels for substances. Downstream employers must update workplace labeling, written HazCom programs, and employee training by November 20, 2026. Updated hazard classifications now include new categories such as flammable gases, aerosols, desensitized explosives, and chemicals under pressure — meaning many existing SDSs require immediate revision. TSCA PFAS Reporting Deadline Extended — Submissions Now Due October 13, 2026
EPA issued an interim final rule in May 2025 extending the TSCA Section 8(a)(7) PFAS reporting period. Most manufacturers now have until October 13, 2026 to submit. Small businesses reporting solely on imported PFAS in articles have until April 13, 2027. Are you in scope?

EPA Finds Unreasonable Risk for 1,3-Butadiene — Risk Management Rule Coming
EPA finalized its TSCA risk evaluation for 1,3-butadiene in January 2026, finding unreasonable health risks for workers in 11 industrial settings. A risk management rule is now required. Companies handling this substance need to review exposure scenarios and update SDS documents accordingly.
